$100/base scene (minimum) $100/scene (scenes 1 - 4, 6-9, 11 - 14 etc) $50/scene (scenes 5, 10, 15 etc.) $0/ first character $30/every other character (max 4) $0/music $15/sfxI used to price my work like that, or rather in a similar fashion, $#/lines-only, $##/color, $##/shaded pic etc. but after a long time I realized theres a high probability someone will request something with too many details taking way too much time for the money. also I'm not fast. back in my pencil art day's 5 hours/pic was the normal. it's just not easy to price that in a way that's both good for the artist and good for the commissioner. So, now I charge by content (like below): $0.#/vector node $0.#/line $0.0#/handle $0.#/shape $#/gradient $#/mask that way if someone requests something with tons of content/definition/subitems but it's only 1 character and 1 scene, I can still give them a rough estimate, and tally up the lines and such after the fact. and then it's fair, they literally pay for what they get. I realized I could charge like this when I started doing web design and realized I could chage per tag, attribute and style, and charge per word for text. something to think about Dinner. |
