Have hope, you can probably still decompile the loader and investigate the actionscript to see what exactly it loads. Download that file and edit the actionscript to make it a local link and you should be able to play it if both files are in the same directory. |

looks like it's set up to load a max of 9-10 scenes depending on whether gnum starts at 0.

you could get swfchan to download them all by linking each one directly but I don't know whether it downloads from links posted to /disc/you can make it a local link by removing the root.hostpath from the gamePath equation |

Yeah it works!
all you do is download the xml files and remove the "_root.hostPath + " from inside the mainXML function for each game.
I would've found this earlier since I used the Text Search tool for "load" in ffdec but it only points you to the first match. lesson learned there.
Later I'll try playing it through all the way to see if any other bugs happen but at least it loads into the first scene, it wasn't doing that before.
chapterlist.swf will need some cleanup too, since it links to weebl's stuff |

well i played some of chapter 1 and encountered a bug where the cursor wouldn't change the box on the side to anything other than the last item it hovered over but that bug might be present in the full game. |

It appears that it was a side effect to a room being glitched. I'm still not sure if the original was like this but there's this room after the squid which can't be exited after entering it and it's impossible to move around in. |

If it were just all swf files I'd upload them and put them into a collection but since it requires xml files I can't do that. I'm just concerned because this is probably the only working version out there, newgrounds has a broken version, weebl's stuff is now a youtube frontend and who knows how long openload.co will be around. |

Frankly I'm not sure if anyone cares enough to take the link down in this year. The game's 11 years old, the original creator doesn't have it on their site anymore and doesn't release the swfs of their newer creations. I'm not quite sure what you mean by seeding in this context but I'd be fine creating a torrent for the file although I don't think that many people would download them. |

You can upload rar files in a /res/ thread, though that is not what it's about and I don't know if the server will even take your upload request if it's not mp3 or images in the rar, but you can always try.
Do regard that these threads DON'T get archived, but it's unlikely that they get bumped off anytime soon. |

It's odd it asked you to sign in because I tried it in 2 different browsers that I wasn't signed into newgrounds and it just started downloading immediately. I think it might have some sort of IP checker to sort out possible spam bots. It's just a .zip file of what was on the previous openload upload. newgrounds indeed does support arbitrary file uploads by registered users who haven't even paid any money; to my knowledge you can upload any type of file withing space limits.>>74468

Then it asks for a login.Had no idea newgrounds supported random file uploads, I've never come across it over the years. Either they are very careful not to promote that feature or they are very quick to delete stuff that break copyright. However you can put passwords on zip files so it would be hard to inspect uploaded content, unless they disallow password protected zips of course. |

No wonder those are so small, they are all preloaders. I can't find the associated flash or xml files anywhere online. I have taken the measure of messaging Weebl through reddit after finding out that he's got an account he checks somewhat regularly there. Hopefully he'll reply back soon with his response. |

Yup. That's part of the problem with flashes that use preloaders or load other flash files: they won't be saved by the archive.org crawler or even by people unless they know to decompile the flash and look for a "load" command in the actionscript. I remember a similar thing had happened with Homestuck. Say all you want about the comic, it had some flashes that are at least of historic value; anyways, one of it's longest animations was just a preloader on the main comic; it fetched an animation that was cut up into ~4 files and those pieces were not archived anywhere aside from the original hosting spot on newgrounds.Reporting that Weebl has indeed replied to me. He was very nice and sent me an archive but it unfortunately contained what we already had, the first 6 chapters. He's going to look for the rest but he's not optimistic about finding them, they ARE quite old after all. If they are lost I suppose someone could be crazy dedicated that they might recreate the remaining chapters from seeing the walkthrough videos -- might be pertinent to at least archive the walkthrough that was linked here. |

I will never understand the attitude of "get rid of fucking everything".
Sure with the purge of flash it might not be necessary to feature that old game on his website front and center, but even having the page still there and not linked from anywhere doesn't cost anything more to do and has the same effect mainly.
Why not let the files stay on the server for all eternity? ...
But kudos to weebl for even responding. Most "internet famous" people wouldn't even bother to read such an email. |

Just found out that the game doesn't save progress, so it seems I have to start from scratch >_<
There seemed to be files to start from a certain chapter though:

They don't seem to work though, because they want to search for files on weebls website.
Any chance to include those in the rip, edit them with local file path and maybe copy over the ones that weren't archived?
